Adult Education
Sidney Schools provides an opportunity for community members to share their talents and expertise through the Adult Education Program. Any individuals willing to instruct an evening class are invited to contact Danny Coryell, SHS Assistant Principal, to get started. Interested community members are encouraged to participate by contacting the instructor or calling the school to register. Quarterly fees are $20 per person; however, senior citizens are not charged the participation fee. Additional material costs may be required for project-based classes.
The Adult Education Program offers two or three sessions. The fall quarter begins at the end of September/beginning of October. The winter quarter begins mid-February. The spring quarter (if one is offered) extends from the winter quarter continuing through April.

Men’s Volleyball

Cooking Class – Focaccia Night!
Join us for a fun, hands-on Focaccia Night in the FCS Classroom at SHS on Friday, March 6th, 5:30-8 PM! Learn the fundamentals of making homemade focaccia—from mixing dough to baking—while exploring flavor combinations in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Participants will take home their own focaccia dough to finish baking at home, along with a completed focaccia dough prepared during class.
Cost is $20 per participant. This 2.5-hour class is designed for all skill levels, whether you’re brand new to bread making or looking to refine your technique. The class may finish early depending on progress. Class size is limited to 12 participants, so early registration is encouraged. If demand is high, a second night may open up.

Crochet and Knit class – All Skill Levels Welcome!
Join us every Thursday from 5:00–6:30 PM starting January 29 in the FCS Classroom at SHS for a hands-on course designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners. You’ll learn the basics, enjoy dedicated time to work on your own projects, and get guidance on preparing and enrolling projects for fairs.
Cost: $20 registration with equipment provided, including practice yarn. Project materials must be supplied by the student. If you need assistance finding or getting a project within your skill level, I can help with that! Equipment is loaned for class use and must be returned at the end of the course. Senior citizens can enroll for free.

ESL (English as a Second Language)

Do you want to improve your English speaking and listening skills? ESL classes are designed for those whose native language is not English. Join us for a fun time making greeting cards. A variety of styles and occasions will be covered. We will make 1-2 cards per class. All skill levels are welcome. Supplies to bring: scissors, tacky glue, and a tape runner. All other supplies will be provided. Class size is limited to 9 participants.
